Specific training and the creation of a theatrical language workshop of Farm in the Cave
The second Farm in the Cave´s international workshop this year is meant not only for the interpreters, but also for the directors and creators who want to familiarize themselves with the theatrical language springing up from the cultural legacy outside of literature.
How the elements of expression of a given culture can be changed first into actors´ training and then into the bodily message. The workshop will offer video and audio samples of the study during the basic research, aimed at the selected manifestations of human expression in Brasil, Andalusia and Slovakia, as well as the practical exercises Farm in the Cave´s actors went through during the creation of the performance and which for the „farmers“ became a school of work with the expression. The line body – rhythm – voice.

Limited capacity. Preference will be given to those participants who are already acquainted with the studio´s basic training (workshop „Expression as a transmission of Human Experience“).

Playing actors and viewers. A play which may overpower its participants, but is impossible not to join. A group of actors is performing a play concerning bull´s resurrection from days immemorial until today. A frightening and a frightened look are trying to push each other out, and thus deliminate the stage and the auditorium. This Farm in the Cave´s scenic composition draws from rhythms and dance steps through which slaves in Brazil were shaking off their bonds and creating their own world.

The workshop will focus on the interpretational and compositional work with music as a material for theatre. MUNDO RODÁ Work Demonstration
The search of energetic and physical trainment through Brasilien Traditional Dances. Technical demonstration about the research that has been developed upon the different elements and principals of the Brazilian Traditional Dramatic Dances, being used as a tool for actors and dancers physical and energetic trainings.
This demonstration will be mainly focused on the Traditional Dance of the Cavalo Marinho from Pernambuco´s Zona da Mata. Parts of the traditional plays and exercises will be presented as well as some of the methodological procedures that have been developed and applied to actors training, and also to the performance “Donzela Guerreira” from Co. Mundo Rodá.

AFRO-BRAZILIAN CONFERENCE

After succesful projects, EASTERN VOICES (2004), the collaboration project of three theatres, LAST TWO HOURS (2006) and FESTIVAL FARMA 2007, International Theatre Studio Farm in the Cave is bringing a new international event.
A dancer and priest of candomble, Augusto Omolu (BR), an actor and musician Odin Teatret, Jan Ferslev (DNK), a master drummer, Kleber da Paixao (BR), an anthropologist and theatrologist, Leszek Kolankiewicz (PL), a theatrologist, Eva Stehlíková (CZ), workshop participants from various countries, and Farm in the Cave, and workshops, lectures, discussions and a final first night presentation.
Afro-Brazilian rhythms and dances are originally cries of the slaves for freedom and power of life, which bring a connection to African gods.
The Afro-Brazilian conference is a theatrical celebration of the culture in which movement is considered as a prayer and trance as a blessing.
